MINI BIO

bycharlotteactually

When I was little I referred to myself as ‘Charlotte. Actually.’ I don't know why. But there it is.

So I thought I'd re-adopt it. If that's a thing.

My favourite bedtime story was 'Little Grey Rabbit' by Alison Utterly which I now  read to my youngest

even though she's (shhh. quiet voice) maybe growing out of it.

I started my working career in fashion PR at Mary Portas’s agency, Yellow Door.

Whilst working in Vogue House I made myself a handbag that got picked up by Harrods and featured in Vogue.

Which is when I decided to set up the business properly.

I founded and was Creative Director / MD of 'Pink Lining'. It became a multi award-winning brand selling internationally in London, New York, Paris, Tokyo.

(this is a very sped up version of events)

Somewhere along the way our family grew to include 4 children, one dog, two cats.

My debut book ‘after-words’ has been selected and praised by The Poetry society’ and is a best-seller in the iconic Notting hill Bookshop and can also be found in Hatchards, Waterstones, Daunt books and other wonderful places. I have created bespoke designs for Harrods, Cowshed (Soho House group), Thomas Pink, The Haven Trust, Breast Cancer Campaign, Seraphine and John Lewis amongst others. I am also very proud to have worked with Great Ormand street Hospital to create an original illustration for the charity.

I am passionate about the environment and was commissioned to create the ‘Queen Bee’ design for a range of clothing and products for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust

I write articles and reviews for various lifestyle magazines and I am an author for mybaba.com

I live in London with my husband Rufus, our four children. The dog. Two cats.
